Solar Covered Walk Way

The 2011 Solar Tour has come and gone. If you missed it this year you can still see the creative use of photovoltaics on this home in Saratoga Springs, UT. The Galloways could not install PV panels on their roof because it was oriented the wrong way. The creative solution to get the amount of energy needed for this project is worth looking at.

The PPS team did a great job of installing this PV powered covered walk way. I have never seen a couple more happy with the installation crew than the Galloways. If you are thinking Solar in Utah County you owe it to yourselves to get educated by Norm and his team. Last week I was told by Norm “We don’t have any unhappy customers” If the Galloways are any indication I would have to say this is in fact true.

Solar Can Be Beautiful!

The Galloways have a beautiful garden complete with a vegetable garden, grape arbor, tennis court and a telescope. Keeping the yard beautiful was key to the solar design. This covered photovoltaic walk way is a wonderful addition to a gorgeous yard and does a great job producing much needed energy as well as keeping the snow off of the walk way in the winter.
